How to Choose your Summer Concealer Shade

There are so many considerations when picking a concealer.

Whether it's finding a shade based on your undertones, finding a formula based on skin type or even finding the right brand based on how you plan to use your concealer! With all those considerations, we hate to throw another one at ya, but it's a very important one that we often forget.

Seasons change, so do our skin tones

If you’re stocking up on concealer as you head into a warmer season, you might want to rethink ordering the shade you purchased back in December.

With sunny days ahead comes an increase in sun exposure. For many women, that means a nice glowing tan.

For others, it means frequent trips to the spray tan salon 😅

Choosing your summer concealer shade

If you do plan on tanning this summer, you might want to choose a shade or two darker than the shade you're currently using.

For example, my Subtl Beauty winter shade is Chartiers and my summer shade is Arlington.

It’s not a huge jump, but I personally don’t tan in the sun so Arlington is the perfect post-spray-tan shade to keep in my stack during the summer. If I tried using Arlington in the winter it would look mismatched.

If there is a significant difference between your winter skin tone and summer skin tone, you might want to consider going up 2-3 shades, keeping your undertone in mind.
