mastering the art of bronzing
hey guys, welcome back to the subtl youtube channel! today, i'm excited to share everything you need to know about bronzer. we'll dive into how to apply bronzer effectively, ensuring it lasts all day, and i'll demonstrate each step. let's get started!
step 1: start with a cream bronzer
one of the keys to long-lasting bronzed look is layering cream and powder products. for this tutorial, i’m using the fenty beauty cream stick in the shade 3 mocha but you can also use a darker subtl beauty concealer! i just love this shade for my skin tone. i apply it right after my sunscreen, almost as part of my skincare routine. it's smooth and creamy, making it easy to blend.
application tips:
- apply a small amount on and under your cheekbones.
- add some to the nose and chin.
- avoid creating harsh lines; aim for a natural, warmed-up look.
step 2: use a fluffy brush
a fluffy brush is essential for blending bronzer seamlessly. i prefer a very fluffy, angled brush for bronzing. using a fluffy brush helps distribute the product evenly and prevents it from looking cakey.
blending tips:
- blend in an upward motion to lift your face.
- avoid pressing and gliding the brush; instead, tap and swipe gently.
- keep the bronzer slightly away from your hairline to avoid a muddy appearance.
step 3: apply powder bronzer
next, set the cream bronzer with a powder bronzer. i’m using the subtl beauty bronzer in the shade leche. choosing the right shade is crucial to avoid a muddy look. subtl makes it easy with their shade match quiz, which helps you find the perfect bronzer shade based on your concealer color. for reference, i use 003N in concealer and leche in bronzer.
powder bronzer tips:
- apply in the same areas as the cream bronzer.
- be more liberal with the powder to build up the color gradually.
- ensure you blend well for a natural, glowy finish.
step 4: blend down your neck
to achieve a cohesive look, remember to bring the bronzer down your neck. this prevents any stark contrast between your face and neck, ensuring a seamless blend.
finishing touches
now that the bronzer is done, you can complete the rest of your makeup. following these steps will leave you with a beautifully bronzed, natural look that lasts all day.
