introducing the road trip collection
welcome back to the subtl channel! Keira here, and today, I’m thrilled to share something incredibly exciting with you all – the unboxing and tutorial of subtl's brand-new road trip collection. just look at how stunning this collection is! it comes beautifully packaged in a tin, a signature of subtl beauty's special collections. let’s dive right in and explore what’s inside.
unboxing the road trip collection
the road trip collection includes three fabulous items:
- guava getaway: a stunning new lip & cheek color.
- apricot avenue: a peachy powder blush that I absolutely adore.
- golden gimlet: a gorgeous glowy nude highlighter.
now, let’s get into the tutorial and see how these products perform!
step 1: foundation
first things first, I'm applying foundation. today, I’m using the NARS light reflecting foundation in Deauville. I apply about three pumps onto my hand and use a damp beauty blender to blend it in. although it’s a bit lighter than my current skin tone, I’ll add some color back with concealer and bronzer.
step 2: concealer
next, I’m going in with the subtl concealer in 004N to match my slightly tanned skin. I love how seamlessly this concealer blends, whether i’m using it alone or over foundation. I also apply some zestination coco lip balm to hydrate my lips while i do my makeup.
step 3: contour & bronzer
for contour, i use the fenty stick in mocha to add some dimension. if you have any tips for nose contouring, please share them – i’m always looking to improve! then I'm going to add some of subtl's powder bronzer on top to seal the look.
step 4: lip and cheek
now, it’s time for the star of the show: guava getaway. this warm, rosy brown lip and cheek color is inspired by the dawn of a new day. I focus it higher on my cheeks for a sunset blush effect. this shade is perfect for the trendy sunset look, fading beautifully into apricot avenue with the golden gimlet highlighter on top.
step 5: blush
apricot avenue is next. this soft, peachy pink blush is inspired by the delicate tones of freshly picked apricots. using the tulip-shaped brush from the four-piece brush set, I apply it to my cheeks and even dust a bit on my forehead. it’s perfect for a summer sunset look. I also use this blush on my eyelids, which creates a beautiful monochromatic look.
step 6: highlighter
golden gimlet is a golden bronze highlighter that captures the warmth of golden hour. I apply it with my finger for a more pigmented shimmer. before adding more highlight, I use shine control powder to mattify my base, then strategically add the highlighter to the high points of my face.
step 7: lips
for the lips, i use guava getaway again. this shade is buildable and perfect for a 90s-inspired lip look. it would also pair beautifully with a lighter lip color like hibiscus highway.
step 8: mascara
i finish the look with mascara. i’m using l'oreal voluminous mascara in black-brown. while we often get requests for a brow or mascara product in the stak, I feel that traditional mascara is already convenient and easy to transport. but, i’m curious – would you use a stak mascara?
final look
and here’s the final makeup look! it’s bronzy, golden, and perfect for any occasion. while i usually prefer a lighter lip, this darker shade is a nice change. next time, i might use guava getaway as a lip liner with a lighter pink in the center.
I love every product in the road trip collection, but if i had to pick a favorite, it would be apricot avenue. it’s perfect for both summer and fall, blending beautifully with guava getaway and golden gimlet.
