My Go-To Blush Hack for a Natural Glow

The Easiest Glowy Blush Hack for Naturally Radiant Skin

Hi everyone! Rachel here, founder of SUBTL. This is one of my favorite tricks for creating a soft, glowy cheek that looks radiant from every angle without feeling overdone or stripe-y.

The best part is that it only takes two products and about 30 seconds.

The Secret to a Seamless Glow

Instead of layering blush first and highlighter second, try mixing them together before applying.

This technique creates a more natural, lit-from-within glow because the shimmer is blended evenly throughout the color rather than sitting on top of it.

For this look, I used:

  • Lip + Cheek in Runway to Rose
A soft mauve-toned cream blush that gives skin a natural flush.
  • Cream Highlighter in Rosé
A luminous cream highlighter that adds warmth and glow without chunky glitter.

Together, they create the perfect radiant spring cheek.

How to Do the Glowy Blush Hack

Start by placing a small amount of your lip and cheek onto the back of your hand.

Then take your cream highlighter and swirl it directly into the blush to mix the two formulas together. You’ll immediately notice the color take on a soft sheen.

Using the back of your hand as a palette helps distribute the pigment evenly and prevents over-applying product directly onto the skin.

Apply Lightly and Build Gradually

For the most natural finish, use the fluffy angled brush in the 4-Piece Brush Set to pick up the mixture and lightly tap it onto the cheeks.

Instead of applying the product directly in one concentrated spot, place it slightly higher on the cheekbone and blend upward and outward. This helps create a lifted, sculpted effect while keeping the glow soft and diffused.

The key is to start light and build slowly. Cream products are easiest to work with when layered gradually.

If you want a little more color payoff, simply add another touch of blush into the mixture and layer it on.

Why This Hack Works So Well

One of the biggest benefits of mixing blush and highlighter together is that it eliminates the harsh separation that can sometimes happen when products are layered individually.

Instead of seeing a stripe of blush and a separate stripe of highlight, everything melts together into one cohesive glow.

The result is fresh, dimensional skin that catches the light naturally.

The Perfect Two-Product Glow

This hack is especially great for:

  • Minimal makeup days
  • Spring and summer makeup looks
  • Dry or dull skin
  • Anyone who wants a more natural-looking highlight

And because both products are cream-based, the finish stays hydrated and skin-like.

If you already have a SUBTL Stak, this is an easy new way to use products you already own. And if you’re new to SUBTL, it’s a perfect example of how our versatile products can simplify your routine while still delivering a polished look.

Happy stacking. ✨
