The Ultimate Natural Brow Tutorial

The Ultimate Guide to Achieving Natural Brows

Hey everyone, Keira here! Welcome back to the Subtl blog! Today, I’m going to share with you my best tips and tricks for creating natural, effortless brows. If you're someone with sparse eyebrows like me, you probably know the struggle of needing to do your brows every day—but maybe your current routine takes forever, or maybe you’re still rocking those blocky brows from 2016 (hey, we’ve all been there!).

I get it! When the soap brow trend blew up, I tried it out too. But for me, it never looked quite natural. It always seemed like my brow hairs were just sticking up, like I’d slathered soap all over them. While some people love the trend, I prefer a more natural, easy-to-do brow that still gives me that full, polished look without all the fuss.

That’s why I’m super excited to show you my go-to routine for natural brows using the 3-in-1 Brow BFF tool from Subtl. It's a three-in-one product that I seriously love, and I’ve never seen a brow product like this before! It has a spoolie, a pencil, and (the best part) a built-in clear gel to lock everything in place. Plus, it comes in five shades, so there’s a perfect match for everyone. Today, I’m using Medium Brown.

Let’s get into it!

Step 1: Groom Your Brows

First things first: before we start filling in those brows, you want to make sure they’re groomed. Don’t stress, I’m not saying you need to go all-out with a full waxing session or anything crazy. I personally like to shave around the edges to keep them clean, but that’s about it. I’m all for a low-maintenance routine.

Once they’re shaped, I always start with a brush. I think this is a crucial step that a lot of people skip. Trust me—if your brows aren’t brushed out, filling them in is going to be a nightmare. My brows tend to point downwards, so I like to fluff them up and out to get a nice, clean base. Light strokes in the direction of your brow hairs will give you a better result, and this step helps you see where you need to fill in.

Step 2: Fill in Your Brows

Now it’s time to fill in your brows. I always say, fluff, fill, freeze—and the 3-in-1 Brow BFF tool makes this process super easy.

When you’re choosing a brow shade, I recommend going just a little bit lighter than you think. Trust me, if you pick a shade that’s too dark, it can look unnatural and blocky, no matter how light-handed you are. If you find the right shade (or even one just a little lighter than your natural color), you’ll get a much softer, more natural look.

When filling in the brows, start by using light, upward strokes. I like to fake the beginning of my brow (especially on the inner corner) by lightly flicking the pencil upward. Take your time and don’t rush—this step is key to creating a soft, natural effect.

For me, I don’t worry too much about making both brows identical. After all, eyebrows are sisters, not twins! But, you do want to make sure they’re somewhat symmetrical for a polished look. If one of your brows is shaped differently than the other (like mine, where one side tends to drop lower than the other), just take a little extra time to adjust the shape to match.

Step 3: Set and Freeze

Now that your brows are filled in, it’s time to set them with gel. This step is so important if you want your brows to stay in place all day. Before I started using the Brow BFF gel, my brows would look great at the beginning of the day, but by the afternoon, they’d droop and lose their shape.

What I love about the built-in gel in the 3-in-1 Brow BFF tool is that it holds my brow hairs in place without feeling sticky or crunchy. It’s super natural and gives me that perfectly set, yet soft brow. If you have any stray hairs that want to stick out too much, just use the gel to tame them.

Final Thoughts

And there you have it! My natural brow routine in a nutshell. I’ve gone slow in this tutorial to show you all the steps clearly, but I promise this whole process usually takes me about 30 seconds—super quick and easy!

Natural brows are such a game-changer, especially for those with low to medium contrast skin tones like mine. They add a beautiful dimension to your face without overpowering it, giving you a fresh, natural look.

I hope you found this tutorial helpful! Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or if there are any other Subtl products you’d like to see a tutorial on. Don’t forget to like this post, subscribe, and stay tuned for new videos every Sunday. I’ll see you guys next week!
