How to Use the SUBTL Starter Stak
If you just got your SUBTL Starter Stak or you’re thinking about it, this is your step-by-step guide to creating a full face in five minutes.
The beauty of the Starter Stak is simplicity. Everything you need, nothing you don’t. Let’s walk through exactly how to use it.
What’s Inside the Starter Stak
Your Starter Stak includes:
- Mirror lid
- Bronzer
- Shine Control Powder
- Lip and Cheek Tint
- Hghlighter
- Cream Concealer
- Base with a mini brush
Each product is buildable, versatile, and designed to work together seamlessly.
Step 1: Concealer
Start with concealer. You can absolutely use this as a lightweight foundation since it offers light to medium buildable coverage. If you prefer a more natural look like me, spot conceal instead.
Apply it to any redness, blemishes, or areas that need evening out. Blend by patting it into the skin. It melts in beautifully and gives you a smooth, natural finish without feeling heavy.
Step 2: Lip and Cheek
Next, go in with your Lip and Cheek. For this look, we’re using Terracotta Tour Guide.
Tap it onto your cheekbones with your fingers. Placing it slightly higher and back can create a lifted effect. If you prefer a softer, rounded look, apply it to the apples of your cheeks instead.
Then take a little and apply it to your lips. Using the same shade on cheeks and lips instantly ties everything together.
Remember, everything in the stack is buildable. Want more color? Add another layer. Prefer something subtle? Keep it light.
Step 3: Bronzer
Using the mini brush from your brush base, pick up a small amount of powder bronzer and dust off any excess.
Apply it around your forehead and blend into your hairline for a seamless finish. Bring it down along your temples, underneath your blush in the hollows of your cheeks, into your ears, and down your jawline.
For quick definition, lightly sweep it down the sides of your nose. You can also use it as an effortless eyeshadow by blending it into your crease and across your lids. It adds warmth and depth in seconds.
Pro tip: Don't forget to blend into your ears, especially if your hair is up! It keeps everything cohesive.
Step 4: Shine Control Powder
Using the same brush, apply shine control powder anywhere you tend to get oily. Common areas include under the eyes, the T-zone, chin, and eyelids.
This step helps reduce shine while keeping your skin looking natural, not flat.
Step 5: Highlighter
Let's finish the look with highlighter.
Apply it to the high points of your cheekbones, the bridge or tip of your nose, and your cupid’s bow. Blend it out for a soft glow that catches the light beautifully.
Pro tip: add it to your eyelids for a quick shimmer eyeshadow!
