how I do my makeup on the go
hey guys! welcome back to the subtl youtube channel. it's keira here, coming to you live from my car with my trusty subtl stak. we've been talking a lot on tiktok about doing your makeup in the car, so I thought it would be a great idea to show you how I do it. let's get into it!
the perfect sidekick
I recently reacted to a tiktok where a girl was doing her makeup in the car and ended up spilling it everywhere. she even used the poof from her cup holder to apply powder! yikes. this is why the subtl stak exists – to make on-the-go makeup easy and mess-free.
step 1: concealer
today, I’m using a minimal setup: the starter stak plus eyeshadow, cream highlighter, and the dry brush cleaner. let's start with the concealer. my shade is 003n. I already have a base of sunscreen on, but I need to cover some blemishes. back when I worked a corporate job, I often ended up doing my makeup at stoplights on the way to work. the subtl stak would have been perfect because it’s compact and discreet. plus, it has a mirror!
step 2: lip and cheek
next, we’ll use lip and cheek in mauve in the maldives. this shade gives a natural glow, perfect for a fresh look. I used to avoid blush, but now I love it. it adds such a healthy flush to the face.
step 3: bronzer
I’m using the leche bronzer with a big fluffy brush from the four-piece brush set. I apply it in a three shape – on the forehead, cheekbones, and jawline. I prefer a lighter bronzer like leche because I can apply it more liberally without it looking too harsh.
step 4: eyeshadow
for eyeshadow, I’m using jelly. even though I dropped it and lost a bit of the highlight, it’s still good to go. I start with the highlight, applying it to the inner corners and under the brow bone for a brightening effect. then, I add some of the matte shade in my crease. I also like adding a bit of shimmer under my eyes for an extra pop.
step 5: eyebrows
I’m using the benefit eyebrow pencil, which comes with a spooly for blending. I like to fluff up my brows after applying the pencil to distribute the product evenly.
step 6: cream highlighter
next, I apply the cream highlighter in rosé. this product doubles as a cream eyeshadow shimmer, making it versatile for travel. apply it to the high points of your face – cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of the nose.
step 7: lips
for lips, I’m using mauve in the maldives, paired with an urban decay lip liner. I prefer a more natural lip look, so I avoid over-lining. if my lips are dry, I top it with some vaseline hydrating therapy for added moisture and shine.
step 8: shine control powder
finally, I use the shine control powder with the brush from the bottom of the stak. it’s great for mattifying any oily areas, especially around the nose and forehead. I like to press it in with my finger for a seamless finish.
extra tip: keep your makeup handy
I keep my stak and brush set in a small makeup bag in the car. it’s the perfect size and keeps everything organized. and I just found my second dual-ended eyeshadow brush in the car – always good to have a backup!
the final look
and here is the final makeup look! it’s fresh, natural, and perfect for on-the-go application.
