how to achieve the perfect doll-faced blush inspired by sabrina carpenter
hey guys, welcome back to the subtl youtube channel! today, we're diving into a makeup look inspired by sabrina carpenter, particularly her look from the "espresso" music video. sabrina has been setting trends with her doll-faced blush, and i'm excited to give it a try. this look focuses on placing blush on the apples of the cheeks, giving a unique, girly, and doll-like appearance. without further ado, let's get into it!
foundation base
first things first, we're going to start with a foundation base. i'm using nars light reflecting foundation, mixing the shades deauville and fiji. typically, i stick to subtl beauty concealer, so it's been a while since i've used foundation. i prefer using a beauty blender for a smooth application. personally, i don't apply foundation to my nose to keep my freckles visible. a stippling brush helps smooth everything out.
fluffy brows
sabrina's look features fluffy brows, which i aim to replicate. when filling in my brows, i mimic brush strokes for a natural appearance. after filling them in, i apply some zestination coco lip balm to keep my lips hydrated throughout the makeup process.
neutral brown eyes
for the eyes, sabrina often sports a neutral brown look with a hint of pinky-purple eyeshadow. i start with the cloud nine matte color as a base, which smooths out the eyelids. for the crease, i use the latte bronzer, applying it with my favorite dual-ended eyeshadow brush. i then add the layover eyeshadow duo's purple shimmer to the outer corner and under the eyes. this combination creates a beautiful, cohesive look.
shimmery highlight
i'm excited to use the gin fizz highlighter from the new vacation collection for a shimmery, wet look. applying it with my finger ensures a concentrated highlight. i also add some shimmer from the layover and cloud nine eyeshadow duos along the waterline for extra sparkle.
concealing and defining
next, i use the subtl beauty concealer in shade 003N to clean up and define the look. i add more purple glitter underneath the eyes and a touch of gin fizz highlighter to the inner corners for an opal-like glow. sabrina's look features tight brown eyeliner on the waterline, which i replicate using the dark color in dune.
bronzer and doll-faced blush
using the latte bronzer and a fluffy brush, i apply bronzer lower on the face to make room for the blush. for the doll-faced blush, i use hibiscus highway, concentrating it on the apples of the cheeks and the nose for a contoured look. this placement creates a round, doll-like face.
final touches: lips and gloss
for the lips, i replicate sabrina's darker lip liner with a lighter center using auburn adventure and hibiscus highway. to finish, i add nyx butter gloss for a high-gloss look.
the final look
the final result is a fresh, luminescent look perfect for a date night or special event. the gin fizz highlighter provides a stunning glow that mimics sabrina's signature highlight. while this look is bold and fun, it's also incredibly feminine and girly.
