Fresh Faced for Spring
Spring is here, and it's the perfect time for a fresh, light makeup look that lets your skin breathe while still leaving you feeling put together. If you're anything like me, acne and acne scars can sometimes make you feel like you need a heavy foundation to cover it all up. But trust me, that’s not always necessary. Today, I’m sharing my go-to spring routine, featuring only Subtl Beauty’s amazing products, that gives you the flawless, natural look you’ve been looking for—without any foundation!

Let Your Skin Breathe
First things first: My skin is definitely not at its best right now. Acne, acne scars, and redness are all visible, and sometimes it feels like the lighting emphasizes it even more. But that's exactly why I wanted to show you how you can still feel confident and put together without a full foundation. Using Subtl Beauty’s concealer, I was able to get the coverage I needed without clogging my pores or hiding my natural skin underneath.
Starting Off with Lip Balm
I always like to start by prepping my lips. Today I’m using Strawberry Stopover—my absolute favorite lip balm. It smells amazing, and it’s incredibly hydrating while giving a slight, beautiful tint to the lips. It’s the perfect start to any spring makeup look.
Flawless Concealer Coverage
Now for the magic—Subtl Beauty's concealer. My shade is 004n, and it’s the smoothest, creamiest concealer I’ve ever used. It’s such a great match for my skin tone that I can use it just where I need it, and it doesn’t require full face coverage. Today, I’m using a brush from Subtl’s 4-Piece Brush Set to apply it. Using a brush is a game changer if you’re in a rush. It’s quick and easy, and I love how smooth the product goes on.
The coverage is light to medium but also buildable, which I love. Look at the difference it made on my skin! I only dipped once, and it gave me enough coverage to smooth out redness while still looking like my real skin. Plus, Subtl’s concealer won’t break me out, which is a huge bonus.
Setting for Long-Lasting Wear
To make sure my makeup lasts all day, I’m using a little shine control powder. I apply it just where I need it (mainly in the T-zone) and on my eyelids to set the concealer. This gives a great base for the eyeshadow to stay put.
Adding Some Spring Color
For that perfect spring vibe, I’m reaching for Mauve in the Maldives from Subtl’s Lip & Cheek collection. It’s the perfect subtle flush of color, and I love how easy it is to apply with my fingers. I dab a little on each cheek, blending it in a circular motion. Then, I go in with Apricot Avenue—my all-time favorite blush—for a little extra warmth. I love how this shade adds depth and color to the cheeks, and the way it blends seamlessly into the skin.
For extra glow, I use Subtl’s Rosé Cream Highlighter, which is brand new and gives the most beautiful, natural shimmer. I love how it hydrates the skin while giving it a subtle, dewy finish. It’s perfect for spring, especially if you’re headed on a sunny vacation.
Bronzer and More Glow
I’m going in with Subtl’s bronzer next, applying it in a “3” shape along my forehead and cheekbones. I always make sure to blend upwards when applying bronzer so it doesn’t drag my face down. Upward strokes give a more lifted, youthful appearance, and I find it makes a huge difference.
Pro Tip: When applying bronzer, be careful not to wipe away your concealer. If it happens, just go back in with your fingers to touch things up.
Eyeshadow to Brighten the Look
Next up is eyeshadow! I’m using Subtl’s Jelly eyeshadow duo—perfect for a spring-inspired eye. I apply the shimmer shade all over my lid, then go in with the purple shade along the outer corners to give the eyes some depth. If you have hooded eyes like me, be sure to blend the eyeshadow outwards to lift the eyes. This is a little trick I recently learned, and it really helps make the eyeshadow pop in photos, especially when you’re smiling.
I finish off the eyes by applying a bit more concealer underneath my eyes and blending it out for a smooth, bright finish.
Eyebrows and Mascara
I’m using Subtl’s Brow BFF for my brows. It’s a three-in-one product that works as a brush, pencil, and gel, making it perfect for busy mornings. The formula is long-lasting and keeps my brows in place all day. I finish the look with a coat of mascara to open up my eyes and add some extra definition.
Final Touches
To complete the look, I line my lips with Subtl’s Runway to Rose Lip & Cheek as lip liner and top it off with the Strawberry Stopover lip balm for a sheer, glossy finish. And voilà! A simple yet beautiful spring makeup look that lets your skin shine through.
The Final Look
I’m so happy with how this turned out! It’s a perfect routine for anyone who wants a quick and natural makeup look without the heavy feel of foundation. The combination of Mauve in the Maldives and Apricot Avenue is one of my favorites for spring—it’s light, fresh, and gives me that natural, glowing complexion.
I’d love to know if you try this look or if you’re creating your own spring-inspired makeup routine. Be sure to let me know what Subtl products you’re stacking!
