Wearing sunscreen is an essential part of your everyday skincare routine, but if you’re anything like us, you know how easy it is to forget this important step as you’re scrambling to finish your makeup on the way to work.
The solution is simple: reach for beauty products you’re already using that are formulated with SPF. Using SPF-infused beauty products will save you from having to take extra time to apply sunscreen, and ensure that you never forget to give your skin the protection it needs.
If you don’t already use a serum, we highly recommend you begin incorporating one into your daily skincare routine. Serums are water-based products that allow you to treat your skin with specific nutrients, such as hyaluronic acid or vitamin C.
The skin around your eyes is incredibly sensitive, especially to harsh UV rays. Lack of proper sun protection can lead to sunspots, dark spots, crows feet, and other issues.
If you’re already using an eye cream, check to see if it has SPF or UV protection on the label. If not, it’s time to rethink your product selection.
If you’re only going to pick one product to swap out for a sun-friendly alternative, make it your moisturizer. Since moisturizer covers the majority of your face, it’ll provide the most protection and can even double as a primer for your makeup.
If you don’t want to get rid of your current moisturizer, but it doesn’t have SPF, consider using it only at night. Your day cream should have an SPF of at least 15, ideally 25-30. This way, you can give your skin the protection it needs during the day, and still make use of your current fave while you sleep!
Primer is a hotly debated product in the beauty community, but in the summer it becomes essential. Nobody likes the feeling of their makeup melting off their face, and primer helps prevent that from happening.
If you’re using a primer, at any time of the year, it’s a good idea to make sure it has SPF. While this is super important during the summer months, it’s important year-round as well.
While slathering your face and body with sunscreen, it’s all too easy to forget to protect your lips. They are incredibly sensitive to the sun, and without proper protection, can become sunburnt.
Thankfully, there are plenty of lip balms on the market that are packed full with both moisturizing ingredients as well as SPF.
Finally, as the last step in your makeup routine, don’t forget the setting spray! It helps lock your makeup in place all day, and can also be an additional layer of protection between your skin and the sun’s harmful rays.
Bonus Tip: these SPF-infused products are perfect for pairing with your Subtl Beauty Stack this summer!

Let’s be completely honest: most of us don’t do our homework before buying makeup. We walk into Sephora, and the beauty department expert shows and tells us how a product will make us feel.
