Spring-Themed DIY Face Masks

Spring is finally in full bloom, and we’re living for the warmer weather, but as the seasons change, so does our skin. From combatting dry, sensitive skin to much-needed brightening and glow, we’ve got all your easy-to-make DIY masks to have your skin looking fresh as a daisy.

DIY Avocado Face Mask

Combat dry skin with an avocado mask

If you’re still battling off dry skin from the winter, or just typically have skin that’s on the dry or sensitive side, this mask is for you. This quick and easy avocado mask includes 3 easy ingredients you can grab right from the kitchen or the nearest grocery store to moisturize and soothe your skin to a healthy glow.

What you’ll need:
½ ripe avocado — moisturizing
2 tbsp of honey — soothing properties
½ tsp coconut oil — hydrating

    What you’ll do:
Wash your face with a warm washcloth to open up your pores
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the coconut oil in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or until it melts
Add in the other ingredients, mixing until fully blended
Let the face mask sit for about 15 minutes so the coconut oil can start to re-solidify, making it easier to spread onto your face
Apply the mask all over your face
Let the face mask sit for 20-30 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water

Pro Tip: If you struggle with dry skin, try using cream-based products! We’ve also got a makeup tutorial just for your skin type!

Brighten skin with DIY Strawberry mask

Brighten up and bring the oil levels down a with strawberry lemon mask

The winter months can leave your skin feeling dull, so this mask is perf for brightening up your skin while maintaining your skin’s oil-control. This simple, oh-so-springy mask includes 4 easily-accessible ingredients to give your skin a glowing review.

      What you’ll need:
¼ cup of mashed strawberries — contains salicylic acid for acne-prone skin
2 tbsp of lemon juice — helps tighten pores
1 tbsp of yogurt — antibiotic properties
1 tbsp of raw honey — soothing properties

      What you’ll do:
Smash the strawberries in a bowl with the back of a fork until fully mashed
Add the other ingredients to the bowl, and stir to combine
Apply the mask to the face, and leave it on for 15 minutes
      Rinse with warm water

NOTE: This mask isn't thick and it will feel wet or runny when first applied. The mask will dry on the face after a few minutes and turn a darker shade of pink (which we love).

Pro Tip: If you struggle with oily skin, fall in love with matte concealers or foundations and shine control powder (you can thank us later). We’ve also got a makeup tutorial for your skin type, too!
