Over the last few years, YouTuber's have made millions off of being popular.
Palettes upon palettes have hit the market, thanks to the most influential among us, but many critics are skeptical of the quality and consideration that goes into these new releases.
In fact, theses releases are happening so frequently, companies have been spinning up to help manage it all. Like the Deck of Scarlet subscription service who will send you all the new palettes and limited-edition releases via a monthly subscription box.
While brand partnerships have become a staple in the beauty industry, YouTuber's are now branching off to create a standalone beauty brand for themselves; Huda Kattan, Jeffree Star, Jaclyn Hill, Michelle Phan, to name a few.
Some of these launches have come under intense fire, while brands like Huda have literally reshaped the industry.
We are not sure where we stand on the matter, but we do know this - building a makeup brand is a lot of work. It takes a ton of time, energy and meticulous attention to detail.
So while we aren't quite convinced the world needs a new palette, we do commend those who have successfully carved out a corner of this industry for themselves 👏👏
