hey everyone, welcome back to the subtl channel! today, i'm excited to dive deep into my fall subtl stak and explore what i'm swapping out from my summer routine. additionally, we'll be comparing and breaking down the brushes in both the old and improved four-piece brush sets.
as you may know, this 4pc brush set has been a favorite of mine, but we now have an updated version to match all of the 2.0 changes. i was pleasantly surprised when i unboxed the new brushes –– in case you didn't know, while I do work with the subtl beauty team, i'm not an employee and actually discovered these updates right alongside you! so i felt the need to dedicate a video to discuss them.
so, let's dive in, starting with my thought process when i receive new subtl products and update my stak for the season.
my core stak
firstly, if you haven't tried the starter stak, which includes the five core products, it's a great starting point. however, as you become more familiar with subtl products, you might create a customized stak for each occasion or season... which is what i'm doing today!
let's start with what i'm keeping. for me, my core stak products include the brush and mirror lid (which come free with every purchase) and i always include the dry brush cleaner, especially when i'm on the go, as it helps quickly remove product from the brush. next is concealer, and i've been using the shade 003N. subtl offers cool, warm, and neutral tones. i'll also keep my bronzer in shade latte, along with the highlighter and shine control powder since they're universal.
changing things up
now, let's talk about what i'm removing for fall. i'll say goodbye to the lip and cheek in mauve and the eyeshadow in jelly, even though i love them both. i just want to try something different for the fall season!
i'm introducing a new eyeshadow duo for fall: dune, which is my second favorite subtl beauty eyeshadow color (right after jelly)! you can also order eyeshadow refills, which is both eco-friendly and cost-effective. to refill, gently push on the bottom to remove the pans and replace them as needed. you can even mix and match colors from different eyeshadow duos!
additionally, i'll add a darker concealer shade, 015C, to use as a cream contour. stay tuned because this will be featured in my upcoming fall makeup look video!
to enhance the fall vibe, i'm including a powder blush in the shade blossom bound. i like to use it on top of the cream lip and cheek for a longer-lasting effect.
lastly, i'll add the terracotta tour guide lip and cheek, which is one of my favorite shades from the new 2.0 colors.
organizing your stak
i realize that this stak is a bit large, so for on-the-go purposes, i might remove the extra concealer, eyeshadow, and powder blush. this is where the standard lid comes in handy, allowing you to create a mini stak with your extra products. for everyday use, I like to keep only the essential four or five products in my bag and leave the others at home.
the new brush set
now, let's dive into the new 4pc brush set. i'm completely obsessed with it! these new brushes come in silver, which is a lovely update.
firstly, the powder brush has a slightly larger brush head, which is perfect for a lighter application. this allows for a more subtl look, especially when using bronzer.
next, the stippling brush now has a slight angle and a rounded shape, making it even more versatile.
the double sided brush is essentially the same, but the ends are a bit fluffier now which i absolutely love.
finally, in the old set, we had a thin lip brush that i often used for winged liner. the new set does not have this brush and instead replaces it with a blush brush, which is a bit denser than the powder brush. both sets are fantastic, but i appreciate the elevated feel of the new brushes.
the new brush set also comes with a beautiful faux leather case, adding a touch of luxury and keeping the brushes protected. the previous set had a mesh case, which sometimes caught the bristles.
the dual end eyeshadow brush
subtl also offers the dual-ended eyeshadow brush, which i adore. the angle on this brush is perfect for quick and easy eyeshadow application. i also like to use the denser end for highlighter! i have the old version in purple, but they now offer silver to match the new brush set. my favorite part about this brush is it comes with lids to keep both your brush and your bag clean!
the cosmetic bag
lastly, subtl has this cute little travel bag! it's a little smaller than the old one, but it's the perfect size to keep your products organized. you can easily fit your stak, 4pc brush set, eyeshadow brush, stak brush BFF, and a couple of extra products.
and that about wraps up this deep dive into my fall stak and the new brushes! i hope this video helped clarify the different brushes subtl has to offer and how to update your stak for a new season. if you have any questions, whether about refilling your stak, brush details, or any other topics, feel free to ask in the comments. don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss my upcoming full-face fall makeup look using this stak. thanks for watching, and see you next time! bye, everyone!
