How to Create a Golden Smokey Eye Using Subtl Eyeshadow Duos

To start, I'm using two of Subtl's Eyeshadow Duos: Nectar, which is more yellow toned, and Dune for the dark brown shade. These shades are perfect for creating a smokey eye because they're highly pigmented and blendable. The brown in the Dune Duo is perfect for creating the smokey effect, while the matte yellow shade in the Nectar Duo helps to blend out the edges and create a seamless transition.

Applying the Matte Eyeshadows

To apply the eyeshadow, I'm using the small rounded end of the brush to pick up the brown shade from the Dune Duo. I'm placing the color in the outer corner of my eye to create a V shape, but I'm not bringing it all the way in or out to maintain the smokiness. Then, I'm using the fluffy end of the brush to blend out the edges of the color.

Next, I'm using the matte yellow shade from the Nectar Duo with the fluffy side of the brush. I'm bringing this around the edges to help blend out the brown and make everything look seamless. This is also perfect for beginners who are learning how to apply gold eyeshadow.

Adding Some Glamorous Gold Shimmer

Subtl's Eyeshadow Duos are super pigmented and easy to use, which makes them perfect for creating bold and glamorous looks. Using my finger, I'm going in with the shimmery shade from the Nectar Duo and placing it on the inner corner of my eye. I'm not placing it on top of the brown shade to maintain the smokiness, but rather blending it up for a crease-proof look. If you have eyelids that crease a little bit, you can bring it up a little bit higher on your eye to ensure that you still have shadow up there.

Perfecting the Golden Smokey Eye Look

To finish the look, I'm using a black eyeliner to make it more smokey. I'm not making the line perfect because I'm just going to smudge it out with a brush anyway. And voila! You've got a stunning golden smokey eye that's perfect for any occasion.

Tips for Using Gold Eyeshadow

If you're new to using gold eyeshadow, there are a few tips that can help you perfect the look. Firstly, choose shades that complement your skin tone. Secondly, use a primer to help the eyeshadow last longer and prevent creasing. Thirdly, apply the eyeshadow in thin layers to avoid a cakey look. Lastly, use the right tools and techniques to blend the eyeshadow seamlessly and create a flawless look.

That's it!

That is how I created this really pretty golden smoky eye using Subtl Beauty's Eyeshadow Duos in Nectar and Dune. These shadows are super pigmented and easy to use, making them perfect for travel. If you're looking to add some sparkle to your makeup routine, try incorporating gold eyeshadow into your look. Whether you prefer a bold metallic look or a more subtle shimmer, there are plenty of options out there to help you achieve the perfect golden glow.
