sparkling into the new year
hello, beauties! it's pauline from zilch beauty, and i'm thrilled to be back with another subtl tutorial. with new year's eve approaching, it's the perfect moment to unleash some glam and shine, and that's exactly what we're going to do today. join me as i guide you through a new year's eve-inspired makeup look that's bound to turn heads.
prepping the canvas
before we dive into the dazzling details, i've already applied my foundation and done my skincare routine. however, after a 12 hour drive yesterday, my undereye area needs a bit of love. i start every makeup look with a touch of lip balm, allowing it to sink in before moving on to concealer. a little TLC goes a long way!
eyes first
given the extra eyeshadow we'll be using, we're switching things up by starting with the eyes. using subtl's travel brush set, i grab the flat brush and begin with the cream concealer under my eyes. the warmth of my fingers helps blend the product seamlessly, and then i use the brush to ensure a flawless finish.
sparkling eyeshadow
new year's eve calls for sparkles, and subtl's eyeshadow duos are perfect for the occasion. i opt for the jelly duo, starting with a bronzer as a transition shade before diving into the shimmer. the dual-ended brush makes application a breeze, allowing me to create a soft, neutral, and smoky eye that's versatile enough for any outfit.
adding a little punch
for a punchier look, i choose a deep brown pencil liner. applying it two-thirds of the way in enhances the eyes without making them appear smaller. after a light application, i blend with the eyeshadow brush for a seamless transition.
clean-up and lashes
trust the process, and remember, we can always clean up any fallout. after a light layer of concealer, i move on to mascara. if you have a lash curler, now is the time to use it. now for brows––i prefer brushing my brows down for better shape definition before filling them in.
bronzing, blushing, and highlighting
with the latte bronzer, i softly contour my cheeks, jawline, and ears for an added pop. next, i apply terracotta tour guide lip and cheek, blending it with subtl's flat brush for a rosy and festive touch. to amp up the glam, the rosé cream highlighter takes center stage, applied with a gentle tapping motion for a radiant finish.
perfecting the undereyes
after one more pass with concealer and shine control powder, i focus on the under-eye area. using the eyeshadow brush, i add a touch of shimmer underneath and blend with my finger for a sultry look.
setting the stage
before moving on, i grab another subtl brush to set my under-eye with shine control powder. its precision allows me to focus on the inner and outer corners, reducing creases and creating a flawless finish.
lips and final touches
i define my lips with a liner and finish with terracotta tour guide for a cohesive appearance. the look is complete, and i'm ready to shine into the new year!
