A couple in the bathtub.

We never thought we’d see the day when Netflix and chill started to get a little…old. Spicing things up from home may seem a bit difficult right now, so to keep things interesting, we’ve conducted (and personally tested) some tips for a romantic spa night from the comfort of your own home! Get the candles and Marvin Gaye ready, it’s about to get steamy!

DIY waxing done right

Ingredients for DIY waxing at home.

Who doesn’t want to look (and feel!) smooth for their S/O? From facial hair to your bikini line, we’ve got two easy, DIY self-wax recipes to keep your body hair in check without the cost of a premium spa!
Remember, you’re dealing with hot wax, sobe careful! Test the wax to make sure it’s not too hot before applying to your skin!

Hardline Wax - bikini line, armpits, lip, or eyebrows (no waxing strips required)

  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. of water
  • 1 tsp. of salt
  • TIP: Add 10-20g of honey or cocoa powder for extra-sensitive skin. Both are anti-inflammatories! My boyfriend and I added honey to ours to minimize redness.

Soft Wax - large, non-sensitive areas like arms, legs, or back (waxing strips required)

  • 1 cup of white, granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp. of lemon juice
  • ¼ cup of honey

Moisturize, but turn it into a massage!

Whether or not you tend to have dry skin, moisturizing is still important for healthy, happy skin, so why not turn it into a massage for a little extra pampering? If you want a lotion specific to you or your honey’s skincare needs, look for products with any of the below ingredients and your skin will be sure to thank you!

  • Vitamin A and B5 - increases firmness and rebuild moisture levels
  • Vitamin C and E - help fight skin damage
  • SPF - helps prevent premature lines, wrinkles, and sun damage.
